Before there were companion apps there was KoboldAI: a browser interface for collaborative fiction with a local model, built when that was a genuinely awkward thing to do.

The project's energy moved to KoboldCpp and the newer front-ends. It is listed here because the file formats, the API and a fair amount of the vocabulary in this corner of the field come from it.
