Spawning's search over LAION and similar datasets answers a question most artists cannot otherwise ask: is my work in there? The opt-out registry attached to it is honoured by some trainers and ignored by others, which the site is reasonably candid about.
It is the only tool in this catalog aimed at finding out what has already happened rather than preventing what happens next.
